Saying Hello,and a Q or two.
Hiya,just signed up after looking a few times..im a long time player,but no good at the tech stuff.
Now before i dl and install all the stuff needed I just need too know,what races are available at the moment..just nwn standard? or are you using custom stuff eg cep brownies etc?
Just thought Id check as im a real Fey buff..trying to play them as more folktale type...rather than Disney!.....*spits*
Even the standard little green fey apperance will do me though.
Good luck and its all looking good so far,what finally convinced me too join was your responsce too that griper on the nwn boards btw ..nice one!

Thanks for popping in... Right now there are seven different 'Factions' and really only one of them could be called a true subrace.
If you have something specific you want to play, alls I require is a descriptive blurb, and what sort of ability modifiers you'd like to see and I will build it for you. It isn't a real big deal for me to add new factions or subraces...
There are fey - faeries and the like- in the woods and they are just as threatened by the Enemy as everyone else, so why wouldn't one want to join the Guild and take part in the effort?
I might need a bigger room for the starting area... if we get really ambitious about this... but yeh, it ain't no thing.

Excellant! ok let me see what i can come up with thats fair for both sides,something along the lines of pros ,fast,spell resistant etc vs cons cant use large weapons etc.

Ok first thoughts
Fey.
These little creatures,so small and mischevious are actually one the eldest of races,known for their blinding speed and innate magic,the little folk if provoked make implacable enemys.
Alignments.true neutreal.
only able too use medium weapons and smaller.
no divine magic ,except druidic.or bard.
base halfling or elf.
-4 str,-2 con/+4 dex,+2 cha +2int.
Fast movement speed,poss linked to lvl like monk?
some innate magic,possibly the toolkit widget for faerie fire etc.
Innate spell res,gained every 5 lvl,s?
these are just my basic thoughts based mainly on other server interpretations of fey ,If you are happy I will elaborate and post lots of info etc..im willing too test any fey-builds and dont mind if they are wiped for being unbalanced..eg one of my thoughts was excempt from having too eat.

I appreciate your enthusiasm... And thanks for sticking up for me in the BioForums.
So lets have a little look here at your thoughts:
Alignment: I would prefer if they were limited to good and neutral alignments. As there are already faeries, unicorns etc already used in game and that they are on the 'good side' it would fit what is already there.
Weapon Restrictions: If we use only halflings, then the limit would be inherent.
Class Limitations: Good, done.
Base Races: again, if we use halflings only, then the weapon restrictions would be inherent.
Ability Modifiers: None of the other factions presented here in have a penalty to any ability scores and I won't set a precedent with faeries. The +4 Dex, +2 Cha, +2 Int ain't a big deal and will wash out in the end. After all the limits are still +12 to any ability score, it just means a faerie is closer to the end game.
Fast Movement: easy enough, we can apply perma-haste. Since as an 'altered' character you wouldn't be able to ride horses, it's only fair.
Spell Resistence : A low resistence to magic is possible, but I would rather not. Simply for the fact that somewhere down the line, someone who hates faeries will also be a wizard and bee-atch about how unfair it is that faeries seem to be immune to all his spells. This however, is a debatable point and I'm not gonna say no outta hand.
Innate Magic: i would like to avoid the handing out of widgits if at all possible. Not to bash the idea, but yeh... None of the others are awarded such things.
No Food: If you don't want to eat, you'll need to find the ring of sustenance, just like everyone else.
Thats my two edges on the matter. What do you think about that?

I just need to make a 'fey' representative and you can take care of it yourself. lol.
Everything is in game, nothing is external... well except for NWNX.
Its 7 o'clock in the morning now and I've gotta go to work, but when I get home, I'll bang off your faction for you. Won't take me but a few minutes. Watch the State of Development thread, I will post there the very instant its done and included online.
