Crash to desktop

I just started playing yesterday, and I have been crashing to desktop about every 10-5 minutes.

The crashes usually occur when I am opening a menu, my inventory, or when I zone.
I have also had crashes when I activate an ability, or when an npc casts a spell.

Last night, I was able to log right back in, and my character was in the same place.

Today, when I reconnect to the server, my character isn't available for several minutes, and appears back at the outskirts on login.

I am running windows 7 pro, running the game in XP SP3 compatability.

Any ideas?

make sure your haks are up to date, did you have any old ones maybe?

Also, if you are the only player on or you are the last player on and log out or crash out, the server resets and takes a few minutes to come back up. When you log back in you're at the outskirts again...

Have you fixed your crashing problem? I had an issue with some bad sound files and had to do a reload of NWN to fix it. That solved my crash problems...

Sadly, I have not been able to resolve the problem on my windows 7 PC. I reloaded the program, redownloaded the update and PW files, and tried several different compatibility modes to no avail. Fortunately, it runs just fine on my winxp PC.
